During a meeting, Ren, Kizuna, and their friends head out to Mementos only to get transported inside a movie. As they escaped, they get transported in a movie theater and meet Hikari and Nagi. As the Phantom Thieves travel to different movies, they meet the Persona 4 characters and then the Persona 3 characters. Now the 3 teams will work together to discover Hikari's past and find a way back to their worlds.
