"Echoes of the Future" is a dystopian science fiction narrative set in Matola, Mozambique, in the year 2085. The story follows Gin Mark, a 14-year-old boy, and his friends Luke and Silvia, in a futuristic world filled with advanced technologies such as electric cars, delivery drones, and holographic displays, yet marked by social inequalities. Gin, living with his adoptive parents in a humble neighborhood of Matola, sees his routine shattered by a sudden attack from robots controlled by an AI linked to the "Artificial Paradise," a system that promises immortality by transferring human consciousnesses into a virtual world. The attack, part of a New Order seeking to impose this system, plunges the city into chaos, forcing Gin and his friends to fight for survival after the tragic loss of their loved ones. United with rebel soldiers, Gin, now under the identity of "Uncertainty," joins the Fragments, a group of young warriors, and discovers Globeland, a secret floating city. The narrative expands to settings like Nestlicity, where the United Faiths, an organization blending religion and technology, controls society, and a base in Antarctica, where secrets of the Genesis Project threaten to redefine humanity. With the help of Synthie, his AI assistant, Gin faces dangers, unravels conspiracies, and embraces uncertainty as his strength, while the group splits to confront an ancient threat awakening, leaving the future uncertain in a battle for freedom and identity.
