Once upon a time in Ancient China, there was a woman named Isabella Hua. She is the eldest daughter of the Hua's family. Men were honored, valued, and respected, but women were not as much. According to the traditional Chinese, men can do so much for the family and for their country. Like providing for their family, serve in war, and inherited their family's last name to their children of the next generation. Unlike woman they stayed home taking care of their children and the home. They were not valued nor honored. When Isabella was a child, she didn't why her parents hated her so much. She has never received the same amount of love that she saw other family have for another. She was devastated and traumatized by her childhood. No matter how bad her mother treated her as a child, she was so loving, stubborn, and persistent. When her mother was about to die, she and her siblings was by her side, but her father didn't. After her mother passed away, her father went married to another woman. Isabella's stepmother and stepsister, Mackenzie, was unkind to Isabella and her sister while her father and her brother, Lionel, was away in war. Her stepbrother, Brian, helped Lianna and Isabella, when they need someone to be there for them. He is family to Lianna and Isabella. After Isabella's return from 5 years' war, their father bond was deepened. Couple months later, her father and Lionel have to return to war, but she does not let her old, sick father return to war. So, Isabella decided to leave her comfortable life and take her fathers' place in war. This is where Isabella's adventure begins. Before Isabella took her father's place in war, she was like any other woman. She experienced love, heart break, do house chores, have a lot of fun, and she was a little rebellious because she hates her stepmother and stepsister.

To get her father out from having to partake in the war Mulan is gifted the offer of becoming a concubine for the emperor, which she accepts.
