She scopes out her table as she always does before ordering and looks shocked to see me as I watch her discreetly. She turns stiffly to face the counter a second later as she places her order.
Once she has her coffee, she looks over at me again and I happen to catch her eye with a charming smile and wave of my hand inviting her over.
"Hey," I say, sipping my coffee.
"Hey there," she says.
"Haven't seen you here before." Lie. "Sit down, I won't bite."
"Really? I come here every day pretty much," she replies with a laugh as she sets her things down, pulls out the chair, and sits across from me.
I know you're here every day. So am I.
"What's your name?" Get it out of her before you slip.
"Samantha."
"Pretty name," I compliment.
"I like yours," she says, gracing me with another dimpled smile. "It means, who is like God."
Oh, I know.
