Eliza and her aunt Jenn need a fresh start, with new people, new buildings and a chance to make new memories, as their old ones are causing them to spiral down a dark path they are afraid they won't return from. Jenn is dealing with the ghosts from her past while trying to provide a normal life for her niece, although she isn't exactly a normal aunt. With her parents death constantly at the back of her mind, Eliza makes an attempt to put the past behind her with the help of a psychologist, Dr R. Hadley. Rose is a young, fashionable woman that makes quite the impression on her new client, Eliza. Although she appears contained, Rose needs someone that she can love and relate to. Unfortunately, the department of Psychology deems it necessary to have only professional relationships with clients, which proves quite the challenge for the emerging couple.
With its perfectly formed spruces and white picket fence, the new town appears to be idyllic but Eliza comes to realise that idealism is merely a façade. There is something dark that hides within the cracks and crevasses of the new town, but this darkness has seemed to always follow her, wherever she goes. Will Eliza find a flame to hold to the constant stalking darkness?
