"She fell in his arms, defenceless; not even a sound, not even a cry. Only the silence of the agony that was eating her alive; only the silence of the pain that didn't want to let her go. That was the collapse; but it didn't really matter, because his lips were there to kiss the grief away, and his heart was ready to host hers, in case it couldn't handle all the suffering. Maybe it wasn't all she needed to be okay again; but it surely was everything she wanted. David; the remedy to her sorrow. David; the collapse of the walls around her."

A poetic short story, inspired by the history of Munich, pre- and post-World War II, about an insecure boy and the drastic choices he makes to gain confidence.
