What happened before you died..

Originally written on Tumblr (follow me at @zenith-the-apprentice), this is the backstory for my apprentice, Zenith. The stories are based around a dating sim called "The Arcana". if you have any questions, feel free to ask and etc. Warnings to my readers: This contains some dark and angsty moments that may disturb some. A small fic suggested by sofipessanha_ on instagram "mc taking care of sick Muriel is always my favorite to do! I usually go for stomachaches and headaches because I know how bad they can get and how annoying and inconvenient they can be." --- Muriel gets a fever and tries to ignore it, but one day it overcomes him and the Apprentice/MC must act quickly to take care of him. Slight angst at the beginning (the most angst I will ever allow myself to write) but mostly centered around self-care and fluff. This might have multiple parts so stay tuned!

The Arcana: Mystical Romance is a love game designed by the people at Nix Hydra. Their 6 main routes are Nadia Satrinava, the countess, Julian Devorak, a plague doctor, Count Lucio, our beloved Goatman, Portia Devorak, Julian's younger sister and Nadia's trusted servant(?), Muriel, a closed off cutie, and Asra, a fluffy magician. As grand as this game is, there is, surprisingly, not a lot of these type of books. Feel free to gush over how your Arcana interest would treat you in these chapters. The lovely English major, Y/n, cannot get a break when it comes to writing papers for their classes. They often spend nights writing and revising their papers, ending up making their partner, Muriel, concerned for their health. One calm, silent morning, after a perilous night of writing papers, Muriel finally confesses his disdain for the way they treat them self, recommending that they take a break from writing papers to finally live for a few hours. "You're the bestest," I whispered, my english major disappearing as I nodded, nearly falling asleep on the spot. (gender neutral reader bc i do it for the girls and the gays thats IT!! also, this is sort of related to my big boy fanfic about muriel, but its modern and they're together, so if you notice the mc making negative comments about themselves, its bc they struggle with self worth and self esteem. For that reason, I have a message for all of you reading this in the story, because I know how hard it can be to feel like you deserve nice things. I love you. I hope you enjoy the story.)

in this story MC isn't the reader, I'm not gonna say their name yet cause mysteries. I strongly headcanon most magicians have white hair, or a specific color depending on what type of magic they practice. Every chapter the title will tell you who's POV it is Asra is 15 at the start of the story and uses he/they pronouns Julian is 16, he/him Lucio is 23, he/him Portia is 11, she/they Nadia is 20, she/her/ her Majesty Muriel is 17, he/him I think that's all for now :)
