Safiya is fifteen, her little brother Callan is nine. After years filled with violence, fear, and manipulation within their family, the two children are rescued from their home - but at first, the rescue doesn't feel like freedom. However, things begin to shift when the extraordinarily talented new girl from Queens, is cast as the female lead. Tensions begin to rise when the antisocial stagehand is also surprisingly cast as the male lead and begins to fall for the new girl.
