James T. Kirk's father was one of the greatest singer/musicians to have ever lived, and one of the most beloved celebrities of all time. When Jim was just a kid, his father was murdered after a concert by a VIP who's romantic advances were rejected. Jim inherited his father's musical inclination, but without his father, he had no desire to engage in anything remotely resembling his father's career.
Until one night, when he's hanging out at a bar. Drunk, and trying to impress the ladies, he staggered on up to the mic and did a horribly fantastic, drunk, karaoke rendition of his father's biggest hit - Kelvin, the last song he performed before his murder. Little did he know that his father's agent, Christopher Pike, was in that same bar.
With an expertly performed guilt trip, Pike convinced Jim to pursue a music career, but that is just the beginning of his jourmey. As he meets incredible people, including Bones, the med-student-turned-body-guard/personal-assistant, Uhura, the absolutely fabulous image consultant who is just as killer as her 6-inch heels, and Spock, the uptight sass-master of an agent, he must navigate the world of fame and fortune while fighting to find his own identity in the wake of his father's reputation.
Work-in-progress, slow burn, and I have no idea how long this is actually going to be. Enjoy the story as it unfolds.
