Pike and dragon fire is my fictional world inspired by the period early modern period,the Renaissance and the age of pike and shotte. The continent of erush is still realing from the effects of the great blight a 100 years previously from the current times.With a 70 Percent of the populous falling to the disease the warmongering of the contients and its kingdoms came to a screeching holt as a time of mass peace was declared by the church of the one.During this time of great peace a dedication of wealth and mind could be taken away from the arts of war and into the literal arts as the continent under went a great change in all senses.Architecture,Art,music,Fashion,Medicine and engineering it took a great step forward from the previous age.But with this time as well so did the advancement of arms and tactics across the contient as the advancement of arms tactics progressed steadily into its modern tactics of pike and Shotte.The peace afforded by the blight is seemingly coming to its end as great as a age of new political and religious between the Cavonist church of the one and the rising of pratonist nations has divided the continent into two great allegiances.The Church of the one supported "holy alliance" or sometimes referred to as the imperials lead in the backgrounds by the expansive and powerful Hielscher family.And on the other side of the conflict the pratonist league or sometimes nicknamed "The god gifted rebels" made up of a combined force of pratonist nations and other offshoots of pratonist ideals.The continent after a age of peace is to be thrown into the dragon fire once again with a new age of warfare and plenty of figures looking to make there mark on the history of erush.May the ones blessings be upon as all. In 1863, Theophile Gautier introduced us to the loquacious, punctilious swordsman, brigand and killer for hire Maitre Jaquemin Lampourde and his curious-looking colleague the Chevalier Malartic, assassin, criminal mastermind and professional kidnapper. They were only secondary villains in Gautier's 'Captain Fracasse', henchmen to the villainous Duc d'Vallombreuse, but they were also much more interesting than any of the main characters of the novel, and sadly received far too little page-time. To remedy Gautier's negligence, I present the continued adventures of this pair of professional criminals in the Paris of D'Artagnan and Cyrano, hoping to do for them what Stoppard did for Rosencrantz and Gildenstern, and what Macdonald-Fraser did for Harry Flashman.
