Something happened when they were in grade school that made Izuku stop talking he only did talk if it was extremely important. He became depressed the only thing that he wanted to do was be in Shoyo presence .Though Izuku had played volleyball since he was a young child, he got spiteful against his brother and father so he played soccer with Shoyo. That was in till they saw The Small Giant in action. That gave the both of them a goal; be like the Small Giant short and be the best at volleyball.
