A slow-burn friends-to-lovers story set in Ljubljana. It starts with summer - pool days, teasing friends, and the kind of heat that lingers long after sunset. Ok, so I wanted to write about the adventuring to the ally that Xefros mentioned (who I headcanon to be Zebede, whoops), but from the reader's POV. So, in order for it to still be a pretty detailed storyline, reader is basically Joey but with a few differences that will be revealed throughout the story. SoOoOoO, enjoy I guess! However, she was a little too much for them to handle; she spoke out, and she had her own opinions. She was just... a little too different. The Facility didn't do 'different'. So they brought in Damien to control her. He was perfect; he already had ties to her, and Anne already trusted him. The Society tricked and manipulated him, getting under his skin until he became the perfect little puppet. They used his love for Anne against him, until it wasn't love anymore. It was resentment. What happens when love turns into resentment, and worse, what happens when love gets traded for power?
