When not - so - normal 15 year old Olivia Hall gets in to LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts she doesn't think she will ever fit in. Shes shy and bookish and has nothing in common with all of the outgoing drama students. She begins to think she wont have any friends until she meets 16 year old Ansel Elgort. He's funny, he's witty, he's cute, but while Ansel wants to be more than friends Olivia is scared of getting hurt and stays firmly in the friend zone.
