Fourteen year old Evelyne is adopted by Gerard Way and is loved in ways she doesn't always know how to accept. She learns how to keep things to herself, even when she shouldn't, and how to act okay when she isn't. Being adopted by Gerard Way doesn't fix everything, and love doesn't make the hard parts disappear. This story is about growing up, found family, quiet pain, and what it means to be cared for even when you don't know how to ask for help.

As far as Helena knows, she was dumped at some orphanage and left their to rot when she was very little. She begins to learn the story of how it all happened, but not before something goes completely wrong. The worst imaginable possibility isn't just a possibility any more....its real.
