To avoid explaining her family makes the decision to send her away to Kansas and there she meets Clark Kent and his family who take her in and show her what family means. Her and Clark quickly become inseparable doing everything together and although she still secretly talks to Bruce she's come to terms with her new life on Kent farm and is making the best out of her situation. But her life quickly changes 3 years later when Bruce finds a way to void the contract..she keeps it from Clark and makes up a lie about why she has to go back to Gotham. But 2 years later her secret night with Clark comes to light when he shows up in Gotham and her secret about Bruce becomes not so secret anymore.
