"On her wedding night, Vani learns the cruel truth-her marriage was never meant to be love. Ahaan, the man she has just married, storms into the room drunk, accusing her of ruining his sister's life. For six months he disappears, leaving her to suffer insults, blame, and a marriage built on misunderstanding. But when he returns... he finds a woman changed, a truth he never knew, and a love he never expected to fight for."
🛑Short prologue:-
I woke up to the sound of dripping water again.
Tap... tap... tap.
For a moment, I didn't know if I was dreaming or alive. Then the cold floor pressed against my cheek, and the burning pain in my wrists reminded me I was still here... still chained... still breathing when sometimes I wished I wasn't.
Darkness.
The same darkness I had been waking up to for two days now. Or maybe more. Time didn't exist here. Only pain did.
My throat felt like sand. My lips were cracked. My voice... gone.
I tried to move, but the iron chains around my wrist clinked and pulled me back, cutting into my skin again. I bit my lip to stop myself from crying out. No point. No one would hear. And even if they did... no one cared.
It had been six months.
Six months since that night.
Six months since Ahaan walked away from me... after breaking me... after spitting accusations that still echoed in my ears. He believed the worst about me. He thought I betrayed him. And after that night, he never looked back. Not once.
And the painful truth was...
Nobody else looked back either.
Not my family. Not my so-called relatives. Not my friends.
Everyone just left me.
Everyone.
I was alone in this house. In this suffocating place where every corner held a new punishment. A new way to remind me I didn't matter.
A tear slipped out without permission, sliding down my cheek and into the dust below.
Six months... and still not a single call from Ahaan.
Not a single "Are you okay?"
