My thoughts when I was reading the infamous bad fanfic "My Immortal" by Tara Gilesbie.

We've all heard of Gryffinndor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. But did you know a fifth house, little known and obscure, also exists at Hogwarts? Its origins shrouded in myth and general ignorance, this house is known as Borke. To this day some wizards dispute that it's even real. It seems to only attract the odd straggler students that the Sorting Hat rejects. In this outrageous Harry Potter parody, we follow the exploits of Snidely Porpington, Theresa Wastrel, and Hugo Nunsuch, a trio of fourth year students who are a part of this oft-overlooked house: the least prestigious at Hogwarts, reserved for the most untalented and unmotivated magical students.

As punishment for previous misdemeanors including (but not limited to) arson and theft, Kai and Bonnie are sent to a disciplinary camp that seems to be actively trying to kill them, what with the overzealous mean girls, cruel camp counselors, food insecurity, and monsters prowling the castle and gardens that are set to plague them for the entirety of the pre-semester holiday. (I would call it summer vacation, given that's what we of the real world call the 2-month-long vacation between school years, but here Summer is a region, not a period of time.) Note: This is not a love story. There's going to be a romantic subplot, but the main focus of the story will be camp activities, monsters, magic castles, and teenage drama-- At least for a while. I just wanted to make sure you knew that in case you came here looking for a manic pixie dream girl/boy/teenager of dubious gender summer. I'm re-writing My Immortal (yes THAT my immortal) kind of half as a dare half as a joke. I'm barely gonna change anything, but Ebony will be genderbent and I'll try to cut out or censor some of the stuff I personally just find unacceptable.

Tara Gilesbie is failing her English class. No, she's not one of those honors kids who claim that they're failing when they really have a B. She has a literal F on her report card for English. So when she's asked to write a short story to bring up her grade, she does the only sane thing that a girl like her could do. It can't be that hard to resurrect Oscar Wilde and get him to write her story, right? But there's something a little bit...different about her teacher's favorite author. He can't spell or use grammar properly, so Tara gets Edgar Allan Poe to be his beta reader. The two of them have epic plans to write a "gothic reinterpretation of Harry Potter," but will it work out, or will the whole project crash and burn?
