Blake never knew her father and as much as she tried to get information out from her aunt, Miranda had no idea who Blake's father was. Now years later, Blake works at Mystic Falls Hospital as a certified doctor. Her dream job. Blake has her own apartment but she does visit her cousins as much as she can. She's very close with her younger cousin Elena, so close they're almost like sisters. So during game night, Elena asks Blake to not tell her parents she's sneaking out to a party and Blake keeps her secret. During the same night, Elena's crying on the phone to Blake wanting her to pick her up because she had a fight with her boyfriend Matt. As Blake goes to pick her cousin up, she gets caught sneaking out by her aunt and uncle and they want to know where she is going and Blake spills the beans she's getting Elena. So the three of them go and get Elena as the unexpected happened, Miranda and Grayson die in a car crash leaving Blake and Elena the only survivors. Elena has no memory but Blake vaguely remembers trying to use her magic trying to save them but she couldn't as she fell unconscious.
