A self reflective story regarding my identity with gender, DID, and my own inner workings with an afterlife/entropic thoughts. It is a story that follows the descent into the underworld archetype, and takes inspiration from stories like Inanna's Descent, and parts of the Kojiki from mythology. Some more modern works that inspired this include Dante's Inferno, 1408 (the film), Paradise Lost, and the self portraits from William Utemohlen. As you read, you might see other inspirations, or connect parts, characters, and ideas in the story to other pieces of media, as the core of this work is heavily inspired by so much more, way to many to list and think of. What I wanted most was to connect the two themes I have seen for the underworld or hell afterlife, one being psychological and the other a physical place of torment. I noticed that as technology advances, we as a people move more away from the physical realm of an underworld, and instead adapt to a more trapped in our minds, or creation kind of torment, with the theory of entropy being an increasing thought as well. The original creation was meant for my college class, but parts of it had floated around in my head before this class, and now I have written what may be considered the final version as of this posting.
