This poured out of me last night as sleep eluded me. I needed to express my thoughts and emotions and have them be out in the universe, to give voice to them whether or not this post will be seen. I hope you're all staying safe and staying strong.

I think this is the right place, where I can keep my emotions safe. It is where I can shout out the pain, even the direction change in the wind vane. This is not a story about survival. Those are told elsewhere in this collection. This is a story about what comes after - the part no one warns you about, when the surviving is mostly done and you are left standing in a rainy country, blinking, wondering what being alive is supposed to feel like now.
