Covinced by a belief that the root of all her problems was her ignorance, she tries to discover her father's past, untangling the knots that have been tied on a subject left untouched for too long. Myra refuses to live in the dark anymore, but could darkness be all she's throwing herself into? This is where vinidictive souls sit upon crystal thrones, worshiped by their people. This is where demonic spirits rule hearts and consume spirit, mind and body. It is where phantoms and wraiths wander the mortal lands free and ghouls of the forest lurk in the shadows of moon-lit nights. Have you ever heard an unexplained howl? A whisper of a voice, that you just can never make out? Ever caught movement out the corner of your eye, an outline in the darkness? Hera Vall and her family fought them. Daemons. Monsters. The Shadows. And usually, she was used to winning. But suddenly, after a night in an abandoned insane asylum, her world is turned upside down. Members of her family, and even a few of her friends, start disappearing. Notes turn up in random places, and there's this dog that won't leave her alone. Vie Grace was one of those monsters. He and his friends, in fact, were. In their world, they can begin to forget who they themselves are and start to become devilish, cruel monsters. Talented, and hard headed, they must try to find a way to save themselves as more and more of them start to forget. Their stories intertwined, these two sides of the same story must find a way to save themselves and the world itself before their worst nightmares come true. Here, they must figure out a way to save themselves without killing each other. Because when a hunter suddenly has to team up with the hunted, plans can go awry fast.
