Nacre, also known as mother of pearl, is an organic-inorganic composite material produced by some molluscs as an inner shell layer. It comprises 95% calcium carbonate (aragonite) which, due to its layered microstructure, yields tensile strength, toughness and ductility levels as well as barrier and durability characteristics that far exceed those of monolithic aragonite or artificial inorganic materials such as concrete. The superior engineering properties of nacre result from its controlled microstructure fored during a biomineralization process. This process involves controlled through-solution crystallization of amorphous materials (mostly calcium carbonate) to form intricate microstructures tailored towards serving structural, protective and other purposes. Can we learn from biomineralization of nacre to produce improved material for construction of longer-lasting, safer and more sustainable infrastructure systems?

Find out what could happen to this Pearl in this tale of a Pearl. (I do not own Steven Universe in any shape or form. This story is inspired by Steven Universe and Gem galaxies. This story does not contain any cannon content from Steven Universe or Steven Universe Future, or any of Rebeca Sugar's works. I am not taking anything besides the idea of a diamond authority from Steven Universe. This AU's White diamond has absolutely nothing to do with Steven Universe's White Diamond in any shape or form.) A story about the Diamond Authority Elites. This story has many unknown characters that aren't from the show. You will meet up to four elites and learn their past and how the gem war ends up. Might get a little depressing on what I am planning to do.

One fateful summer night, Kira finds herself the result of a choice. But when a looming threat closes in on Kira's realm, she will have to choose between her found family and the realm she came from. Will her newfound family help her defend her realm?
