There has been a murder in one of Yokohama's shopping malls, and both Ranpo and Dazai are sent to investigate the crime scene, with Atsushi as an assistant. Or Dazai and Ranpo driving insane Atsushi and Minoura (the mean detective police guy).

Atsushi moves from Inner city Tokyo to Yokohama to stay with his (father figure) maths tutor Kunikida Doppo and meets the mysterious Mori family, but are they as human as they seem? (of course not!) --- Atsushi's parents are dead and he's lived in a group home for as long as he can remember, but because he hates being a bother, he's been hiding it from everyone. When his maths tutor finds this out, he convinces Atsushi to come stay with him and finish his last two years of high school in the city of Yokohama. He's 17 so he can legally release himself from the home. He then makes the journey to Yokohama and meets a certain eyebrowless boy. The Mori family are Skill users, but they've been eternally cursed and the young Weretiger just might be the key to freeing them.
