My eyes quickly open back up as I hear my timer going off. I immediately dust off my hands and walk to my oven as the smell of cinnamon and brown sugar waft through the air. I take the pan out of the oven, placing the freshly baked cinnamon rolls on the counter next to the bread I have to start rolling out. I put a bit more flour down before beginning to roll out the dough, folding it over itself with practiced ease. Pressure. Resistance. Release. Same rhythm, different life. I sigh, blowing a strand of hair out of my face as I try to shift my mind to anything else. She giggles more, resting her head on his shoulder. "Then can I get a suit and be you for Halloween?" She asks excitedly, her eyes sparkling with hope.
