The crown prince is murdered during his coronation by the most hated mage in all of the kingdom's history. Several years later, at the urging of the young princess, Knight-Captain Rose Delores recounts the story. Of the murdered prince. Of the mage. Of a band of adventurers and close friends. Of betrayal and loss.

He should have guessed that she would have cut her hair by now. She smiled with this weird, soft, crooked smile that always made him think of the french actresses of the Nouvelle Vague. She looked like a blonde Anna Karina with short hair.

Sixteen year old Tinsley Mathis seemingly has a good high schooler's life. She's dating Manuel Rivera, who is one of the hottest guys at school, has three best friends, and has a good relationship with her mom. But on the last day of school, her and Manuel go to a party, and she catches him flirting with a girl, which is a continuous problem with him. After the party, she confronts him, and breaks up with him. Although she was sad, her friends were there to cheer her up. When one of her friend's invites the group to join her and her mom to go on a summer vacation to Greece, they decide to go. In Greece, Tinsley meets another guy on vacation named Caleb Reed. They hang out, talk, and kiss, just like how any other summer fling goes. When she gets back from vacation, Manuel apologizes and begs for her back, claiming he was very drunk, so she takes him back. On her first day of junior year, she was having a typical normal day, until she coincidentally sees Caleb at school. Manuel has no clue what happened in Greece, and she definitely doesn't want him to find out, even though they were broken up at the time. Will she be able to keep that a secret? Will she continue to date Manuel or will she catch feelings for Caleb?

(Title suggestions welcome) Pride and Prejudice meets the Hobbit (with orcs) when a princess decides to take her arranged marriage into her own hands and travel to her prince's lands on her own. There's a bit of a problem though. Winter decided to settle in early. Good thing her prince found her halfway - she just doesn't know it yet. Damsels, orcs, and krakken, oh my. (I don't know what the body count is going to be yet, so probably consider it PG-13 for safety.)
