Advancements in cybernetics have left the lines between man and technology a blur. Enhanced machines were expected to serve the people, until those machines usurped the people. When the streets surrounding her home erupt into a battlefield between the insurgent cyborgs and the government that wishes to control them, Ellery Kent hadn't thought that she would be considered the enemy. A/N: Same issue with another story, whereby I didn't really reach a fitting conclusion. That's being rewritten, I promise >_< Mysterious. Amnesic. Deadly. I lifted the oddly familiar stone and held it gently. It was ovular, the unnatural color of dark gray. Tahlia peeked around my shoulder and asked, "What is that?" The stone suddenly changed to the pigment of my hand. Realization washed over me in a wave of horror. "It is a Dragon Egg." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fyre Dragona is heir to the throne of Laerdras, the only human kingdom in Arthendele. All across the nation people envy her power, or they loathe her for it. She would, after all, be the first woman to ever rule with total authority. And she hopes that her perspective could change the tide of a brutal war against the Elves; a people fabled to be fair and beautiful, but battle with hatred seared into their eyes. Along with their fury, the Elves have a mysterious ally who dwell in the cold mountains of the northeast: the Dragons. In what feels like the worst of the conflict, Grand General Haroshimi of Laerdras' army returns to the palace to strategize, along with his maddening son, Augustus. The next few weeks change Fyre's life; she finds hidden secrets within her home, along with being destined to marry the general's son, and being forced to hand her authority to him. When she sees her bright future crashing down ahead of her, she flees the palace with her maid and only friend Tahlia, looking to lead a simple life. Growing up as a young Muslim woman, I realized the significant segregation between people with diverse beliefs, people who looked different, people who didn't have the same backgrounds. I saw my classmates digging holes into the dirt that the inspiring historical figures cried through the heavens from above - because they've realized that their efforts are to be gone in vain. I began to realize that there was no compromise, and there never will be, unless these diverse arrays of individuals conglomerated to inspire or find solutions to the ongoing problems we face within our community. I'll put it quite simply - Arogen is an allegory. It's an allegory for many things, actually. The biblical and Islamic renditions of the prophet's stories, the political setback and controversy over religion, the discrimination of Muslims throughout the world because of ill-defined words and scapegoats. It's all real, whether we like to see it or not, and in writing my novel, I hope to portray the real social clash and horridness of what happens when both sides don't communicate. When people realize that communication, language, literacy and comprehension of one another is key to living a real and honest life, and that it effects society immensely, is when we can climb out of the hole that we've dug so far in. In that moment, the moment that we realize that this is our reality, we can find a way to pull ourselves, wrench ourselves out of that damp dirt and begin to work through our problems - figure out how to get the sun out so that the dirt will dry, and then have the grass grow.

Time. It's been a problem for everyone since the beginning of it. There's either too much time, or not enough of it. Some people would like to stop time, slow it down, make it speed up to get through things. But not me. I enjoy time, every second it gives me is precious. Everyone is born with a time stamp on their heart, a dull black tattoo looking time plate that never counts down, never moves... Until your twenty second birthday that is. Now, this could mean one of three things. 1) You're going to die 2) Your soulmate is going to die or the third reason, the one that's very rare, the one that everyone hopes for... 3) You find your soulmate The one thing they don't tell you about soulmates if you find them, it could be too late... ©Kenzie Laine 2016. Class 5-E, the 5th period engineering class of Fowler High. You'd expect it to be filled with the stereotypical GT (which stands for gifted and talented) nerds or kids who accidentally picked the wrong elective. But actually, this class is filled with many different people with many different stories. And all of them chose to be in this, and none of them want to go out. This is mainly a story about them and how all of them impacted my life, for better and worse. During the school year, we all had developed a special bond that we hope could last for a very long time. It's like one big family, well, one big crazy idiotic family. Class 5-E isn't anything truly special, it's just the people in it who make it that way. And me? I'm Cassandra Joyce, just a random teenage girl who was hoping to have a drama free yearand be away from the spotlight. Unfortunately, some wishes don't come true.

Minors running around playing superhero constitutes a worse nightmare situation for the Justice League. As such, Shiro and Keith find themselves both drug into Young Justice becoming guardians of their home planet before becoming guardians of the universe. Disclaimer - I don't own Voltron: Legendary Defender or Young Justice. The Young Justice canon goes AU regarding the original team. Teen Titans existed prior to Young Justice. (See some of the chapters in Beyond the Night, particularly the first one.) Shiro and Keith are siblings by blood in this, their mother is Altean instead of Galra, Ryo is Keith's twin and a pop-idol. Also, humans obviously know about aliens in this, where as they don't in VLD. Oh, and this is my NaNoWriMo project for 2017!
