This is the story of a man named Stanley. Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was Employee #427. Employee #427's job was simple: he sat at his desk in Room 427 and he pushed buttons on a keyboard. Orders came to him through a monitor on his desk telling him what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order. This is what Employee #427 did every day of every month of every year, and although others may have considered it soul rending, Stanley relished every moment that the orders came in, as though he had been made exactly for this job. And Stanley was happy. And then one day, something very peculiar happened. Something that would forever change Stanley; Something he would never quite forget. He had been at his desk for nearly an hour when he had realized not one single order had arrived on the monitor for him to follow. No one had shown up to give him instructions, call a meeting, or even say 'hi'. Never in all his years at the company had this happened, this complete isolation. Something was very clearly wrong. Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found himself unable to move for the longest time. But as he came to his wits and regained his senses, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office.

Wizard101 has always been a game I've loved and had a blast playing growing up! Recently, I decided to dive back in with a brand new account and new Wizards. I even treated myself to a few months of membership so I can fully enjoy the game with unlimited access to all the worlds in the Spiral. One of my favorite things to do is create original characters (OCs), so I thought it'd be fun to write about my Wizards' journeys through the game. For privacy reasons, I've changed the names of my Wizards and any other players Wizards featured in the story. While I typically play Wizard101 solo, the game continues to bring me a lot of joy, and I'm excited to share that joy with others through these stories. Eventually, I plan to update these chapters with artwork! For now though, I'm using in game screenshots since I don't have much art ready yet, but I'll update the chapters with illustrations when I'm ready! This story was created for fun and enjoyment, and I hope anyone who reads this will have as much fun reading it as I've had writing it! If you've never played Wizard101 before, it's a free to play online game available on PC and laptop. Just recently, it launched on console for Xbox and PlayStation 4/5, and it's set to release on the Nintendo Switch at a later date. I don't know if anyone will end up reading these Wizard101 fanfics, but even if it's just me enjoying the process, that's enough. This collection rose from me being unable to express the pain of my heartbreaks out loud. Instead in words, I could let those emotions flow and slowly, I could heal my heart. September 1066. The world holds its breath as the comet of destiny arcs over England, yet thousands of miles away, the sun sets on a forgotten soul. You are a bastard of a great house, stripped of birthright, title, and honor, cast out to the scorching sands of North Africa. With nothing but a dying name and a flickering ambition, you find yourself in Tunisia-a crossroads of cultures, intrigue, and imminent betrayal. While kings fight for thrones of iron and gold in the north, you must weave your own loom in the desert. Will you vanish into the shifting dunes, or will you force the world to recognize the name they tried to erase?
