After several years of isolating himself from the pretentious, gossiping people of his town, he packs up and decides to head out on the Oregon Trail to begin a new life. This is a story about the harsh journey the westward pioneers made, encounters with Indigenous peoples, racism, morality, family, and the value of human life.
