In the not-so-distant future, aboard the Echo 11 shuttle, systems engineer Ethan Vale navigates the wonders and perils of space as humanity pushes the boundaries of exploration. After years of waiting, the crew finally reaches the Mars Space Station, but their mission is shrouded in secrecy and intrigue. While publicly tasked with analyzing carbon samples on the Martian surface, Ethan and his team are actually drawn into the mysteries of strange, massive particle clouds hovering just outside Mars's atmosphere. Ethan, with his spirited Tennessee charm, contrasts sharply with the somber formality of Director Mizell, whose strict demeanor only fuels Ethan's desire to push the limits of protocol. As he prepares for a crucial spacewalk alongside Captain Marcos Wilson -his steadfast friend and celebrated pilot-the memories of a tragic family loss surface, intertwining with dreams of heroic adventures reminiscent of his childhood. Yet, a sense of foreboding looms as the crew prepares to confront the unknown. With each passing moment and every breath taken in the weightlessness of space, the past and present collide. Ethan is propelled by the thrill of discovery but haunted by sorrow, as the team inches closer to unraveling the truth behind the enigmatic clouds-an achievement that could redefine humanity's understanding of the universe. As they gear up for their historic mission, the stakes rise, and the balance of fate teeters between tragedy and triumph. Embark on this captivating journey where a man's heart yearns for resolution, and the cosmos whispers secrets yet to be unveiled. Will Ethan and his crew find the answers they seek, or will they uncover something that challenges everything they thought they knew? Story still in progress. Chapters updated every Friday. // I DO NOT own any characters mentioned in this book besides Samantha Barnes. I have created her specifically for this book. Rights go to Andy Weir for writing The Martian and creating all the amazing characters and events. This fanfiction is based on the movie and the book. // Ares III landed on Mars on November 7, 2035. The crew consisted of Commander Melissa Lewis, Rick Martinez, Beth Johansen, Chris Beck, Alex Vogel, Mark Watney and me, Samantha Barnes. Disaster wasn't supposed to strike... Or well, it wasn't supposed to hit as hard as it did. Watney was hit by the antenna that was attached to the ship... And naturally (yeah, right), I went after him. This is the story of our survival.

Apollo 11 was the space mission that first brought the men to the moon, the Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, on 20 July 1969 at 20:18 UTC. Armstrong was the first to set foot on lunar soil, six hours later than the landing, on 21 July at 02.56 UTC. Armstrong spent two and a half hours outside the spacecraft, Aldrin a little less. Together they collected 21.5 kg of lunar material which they brought back to Earth. A third member of the mission, Michael Collins, remained in lunar orbit, piloting the Command module that brought the astronauts back home. The mission ended on July 24, with landing in the Pacific Ocean. Launched by a Saturn V rocket from the Kennedy Space Center, on July 16, Apollo 11 was the fifth manned mission of NASA's Apollo program. The Apollo spacecraft consisted of three parts: a Command Module (CM) that housed the three astronauts and was the only part that fell to Earth, a service module end first part

Why have no humans walked on the moon since 1972? That's 46 years without any manned moon missions, so why have we not returned to the moon? Why have no bases or cities been built on the moon? Why was the space shuttle never sent anywhere, but just hung around the Earth? Why did the Russians, Europeans, and the Japanese not send their own manned missions to the moon? Why have the Chinese and the Indians also been dragging their feet too on manned missions to space or the moon? But why then since 1972 have the Americans, Russians, Europeans, Japanese, Chinese, and Indians have been spending billions upon billions of dollars in launching unmanned moon probe crafts into space to collect more and more information on the moon? What are these governments afraid of? What did they find up there? What is going on up there? Why is NASA and so many different types of scientists are planning on great manned missions to Mars, but no great plans to return to the moon? Is there a past history humans have with the moon that is unknown to us today? Why are we not even trying to use the moon as a jumping off point for manned missions to Mars? Why? Why? Why? What are The Knowing keeping from The Unknowing about the secrets of the moon?

2218, NASA sent its first mission- IRIS- out of our solar system to a newly found habitable planet named Koro. Little does NASA know, is that Koro is nothing but a frozen battlefield, nearly inhabitable from hundreds of years of war between the galaxies, leaving only a single native survivor on its planet- a six-year-old girl named Kali. A woman from IRIS takes it upon herself to take care of the orphaned Korian and gives her a place among IRIS. Eleven years after IRIS landed on Koro, a neighboring planet comes to eliminate all life on Koro and multiple planets in galaxies. Once again, Kali is the lone survivor. To stay alive, she must set out of the once safe IRIS shuttle and find help to save herself, planet and galaxy.
