Her bond with her dad goes beyond the normal father daughter relationship. she's all he has and vice versa. 17 years old Euphoria is brought up in the church, her and her 3 sisters who are choir singers. Their mother Ella and father Frank went through a lot to get Columbia Records come down from NY to hear them sing. They want their daughters to sign there and premiere as 'the gospel singer girls'. But the label isn't impressed with signing a group, it's too many girl groups out already. They only want Euphoria cause she's the voice of them all. Yet Mrs Love isn't satisfied that they want one of her daughters, they come as a package, but Mr Love insisted. Euphoria goes off to New York City to peruse her singing career and she takes her bestfriends with her, cause her sisters wasn't able to come and support because of their stubborn mother.
