10 years after the fall of Galbatorix and the start of the rule of Queen Nasauda, the dragon riders return and they bring exciting news. There is a new opening to be a rider. Maria is 18 and still live in the city of Tierm at an orphanage. She helps out with chores and runs errands. Whenever she hears of the riders coming to Teirm to find a new dragon rider, she becomes excited. Then she heard that when the egg entered the gates of Teirm, it started to shake rapidly.
