***SHARE YOUR NANO STORIES IN THE COMMENTS*** Hello, all! This is my third or fourth time attempting NaNoWriMo... can't remember. I won the first time, but life has been crazy, so I need extra motivation this time! I'll be journaling each day I write about how it's going, and I invite you to commiserate with me in the comments! If you're posting your stories to Wattpad as you go, you are welcome to post links. I can't promise I'll get to them all, but I'll look if they sound interesting! I'd also be happy to swap feedback if you're willing to read another story of mine; PM me for read for read requests.

❝ where do we go from here? ❞ A stubborn Gwendolyn Farris absolutely refused to buy into the story-based choice games her friends were oh so obsessed with. She found them to be pointless and it seemed as though her best friends were choosing them over her. Her refusal makes sense- however, it doesn't matter much when she finds herself stuck in one. Now faced with having to save the magical world of Occeralia, will Gwen ever manage to get home?

A 2024 NaNoWriMo story "'I have to go!" I yell, before my feet take over and I'm shoving my way through the crowd. Eliza says something, but I can't hear her... I have to get away." || A Shifter, a humanoid creature that can take the form of any existing or imaginary being, lives among humans. For any other Shifter, this would be fine, and they could just take the form of a human. Super easy, right? For any other, maybe, but this one has lost control over their ability and is constantly changing into strange combinations with no way to stop it. They've lived with humans for seven years, wearing cloaks and keeping their eyes down to avoid unwanted attention. This worked fine, at least it did, until they literally bumped into Eliza, a girl their age. Luckily, their wonky powers shifted them into a creature that resembles a human, but it's bound to change eventually, and Eliza will learn the truth. And Eliza is the only friend they've had in a long time. Can the Shifter keep their origins a secret and stay in the only place that's ever felt like home? Or will everything slip through their fingers, just like it always has?

The Baxter Center for Cancer Research, a small lab in Black Harbor, Massachusetts, has drawn national attention after the leak of some very controversial files, known only as the "Omegas." These files revealed the true nature of the lab's purpose: to manipulate human DNA in order to create a master race. For sixteen year old Carson Lovely, whose mother is the director of research at Baxter, the ordeal was especially humiliating. When the federal government shuts down the lab and confiscates all of the research, Carson and the rest of the townspeople of Black Harbor believe they can go back to their normal lives and move past this blemish on their otherwise sterling reputation as a tourist destination. But when a mysterious boy arrives in town, Carson begins to wonder if her mother has returned to her grim work.

Currently on hold because of writer's block and family issues, but I did work on this quite a bit in April for Camp NaNoWriMo. I'll be back soon, I promise!! xo Ella When sixteen-year-old Magnolia Spencer accidentally crashes into a snowbank during a sudden New England blizzard, she is forced to take refuge in the home of Devin McKinley, a boy in her grade, for a weekend while the storm blows over. Devin McKinley, her former best friend, and the boy she's been in love with before she truly understood the meaning of 'I love you.' Devin McKinley is a baseball player with an ex-girlfriend who won't leave him alone. A year below him, Tess Reynolds doesn't understand the words 'it's over.' And when his old best friend Magnolia crash-lands herself into his life, he thinks he finally has the opportunity to get rid of Tess once and for all. But what happens when he actually starts to fall for Magnolia? A contemporary WIP about the surprises of love. DISCLAIMER: I, Ella Brody, author of this story, have only once been in a relationship before- the one I am in currently. I've only had one experience with a boy, so I don't have a lot of knowledge on the subject. Please bear with me!

Dear Whoever-The-Hell-Would-Read-Someone's-Private-Journal, It was a regular day, I mean, until it wasn't. I mean, it wasn't even three weeks before- Ugh, I getting ahead of myself. I found this journal over in someone's locker, and I guess I'm in denial. The name's Arelene Owens, my friends call me Lena, so don't do that. I don't know where how to describe what happened, but I know where it began.. I was just a normal girl with a bad rep, and I would give anything, anything at all, to go back and redo everything. My parent's divorce, the rumors, my friends backstabbing me, it was just all too much, I guess. I snapped. Got into a fight, earned my first detention. That's where my spiral of self pity and my "bad girl" image took over my life. That's why I was there that day, that's why.. everything happened. Excerpt from Sabotage: Running towards my only safe haven, I was sure I had it made. Until I fell, hopelessly tangled in the roots of a towering willow tree, the branches dancing across my vision as I attempt to get my bearings again. I try to catch my breath as the surrounding darkness pressing in on me, suffocating me and driving away even the idea of a rational thought. The distant sound of footsteps is now sounding merely 100 feet away. As my heartbeat rapidly increases, I strain against my bonds, the looming shadow drawing ever closer, each step ringing in my ear like a gunshot. Mere moments after the set of feet, cloaked in a murky black cloud, enter my vision, silence. Shaking from head to toe, I slowly gaze upwards to the face of my doom, my destruction, hoping to at least catch a glimpse of my assailant, but all I can feel is a slight sense of wrongness, an alarm blaring somewhere off in the deep recesses of my mind, aching for me to leave this place of death and darkness. The figure has no face. In a vaguely high pitch, a wail calls out to me from the distance, almost drowning out the only words I've heard come from my reaper. "I'm sorry, Lena."

It wasn't camaraderie, and he figured it out explosively in the middle of a firefight. Flames raged on every side, civilians screamed at a distance, and she ran for a crying toddler flanked by the enemy. Fire lit in his chest and dying embers around their feet. She saw his wide eyes, agape mouth, and asked what he thought. Written for my Creative Writing Club that tries to write 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo collectively
