WHEN Rhum McQuoid first sets eyes on the obscure Brackendale Natural Science Museum, he senses a great story lurking behind its gloriously Gothic Victorian facade. It does not disappoint. Inside, it is filled with a vast collection of weird and wonderful curiosities, from thrilling to ghastly. Florrie, the curator, takes enormous pride in the exhibits and regales him with tales of their origins as she guides him on a private showing. A showing with a finale Rhum didn't suspect.
