A maritime short story written for the Marine Society's Writing@Sea competition in 2013. The story features a down on his luck workboat skipper who is tempted by the easy money of modern day smuggling on the east coast of England. It is set in the early days of the offshore windfarm construction boom when many coastal seamen risked it all in the hopes of striking it rich.

A bright young woman is introduced to a new project from her lab. The goal is for her to go down in a new submarine with new technology and test drive it. It;s supposedly supposed to go down to depths previously not imagines. All is well until part of the submarine breaks and she is trapped down wondering if anyone can hear her cries.
