Some stories begin in sunshine. Mine began in survival. Born at almost 26 weeks alongside my twin brother, I entered the world fighting before I had the chance to live. What followed was a childhood marked by uncertainty- growing up in and out of foster care, navigating trauma, loss, and the kind of experiences no young child should have to carry. This memoir is an honest account of what it means to survive a difficult beginning while searching for safety, belonging, and hope. It's about the people who left, the people who stayed, and the moments that quietly shaped the person I would become. These pages don't promise a perfect ending or easy answers. They offer the truth- messy, painful, hopeful, and real. If my scars can become someone else's survival guide, then every painful memory I've shared has been worth revisiting. This story is more than my healing-it's my hope that someone else finds the strength to begin theirs. ❤️
