So I'm sitting on a park bench in New York, writing this story about a girl who finds true love in the most unexpected way and place, and it starts raining. It's pouring down in sheaths, and I have no umbrella or rain coat or anything because just a few minutes ago it was 100% clear and sunny outside. My journal is getting soaked and the pen ink is running and the pages are starting to curl. I close it, putting the pen in its handy holder inside the spine and hope the rain doesn't ruin the leather as I wrap the string around and tie it. Just then a tall shadowy figure walks over to my bench and sits down. He is holding an umbrella, but it's closed and his nice dress pants and sweater are drenched. I can't imagine how ruined his leather dress shoes are. He sees me shivering and soaked, and smiles as he opens the umbrella and holds it over us. He has to scoot closer to me just to keep us dry under his not so large umbrella, but it's just nice to be somewhat dry. We don't talk at all. After 30 minuets, the rain lets up and the figure leaves. This leaves me with nothing to do but make sure my journal is intact.
