Neanderthals Stories

Ms Jean M. Auel's best-selling book "The Clan of the Cave Bear" and "Earth's Children" book series is a beautiful depiction of our planet 35,000 years ago. Her six books brought me many hours of enthralled reading, at different times in my life. Written (and read) over a couple of decades, many "Earth's Children" readers have posed questions on certain sections of Ms Auel's epic. It is delightful to read different writers' fan fiction interpretations, who build on the foundational ancient world brought to life by Ms Auel. My first Earth's Children fan-fiction piece, "The Clan in the Valley", imagined Durc's life after Ayla was forced to leave Broud's clan. My second fan-fiction work, "The Man of the Others", tried to picture a young Mamut, who met the same clan years before Ayla did. This story looks at Ayla from the eyes of those closest to her. Ayla's friendship with them was unprecedented, and set the stage for what we take for granted today. It is perhaps particularly apt that this third fan-fiction piece was written in the Year of the Horse, according to the Chinese Zodiac. In my fan-fictions , some characters are Ms Auel's creation and copyright, some are mine. Passages from various "Earth's Children" books are extracted as vignettes to preface my chapters. Thank you to Ms Auel, for giving us Ayla - who continues to inspire girls and boys even in today's very different world of ours. Along with her two sisters the have left their clan. With no male to protect the from their new clan leader and his hunters their was no other option. They search for food and shelter. In the murky gloom of the forest they find themselves face to face with a small strange hunting party. They are the others. Nykrion and his two brothers are gathering food after a hard winter. They don't know what to make of the odd females. One thing is certain though females even strange are valuable. The can do what no male can: bring forth new life. Can the females accept their new life? What happens when a larger clan moves ever closer to their cave? (M for later chapters)

What matters is that good people who used to enjoy an evening walk in the park or an ice cream cone down at the corner store can no longer leave their homes at night. A very powerful group has come together with the understanding that the elimination of crime was on their shoulders. It would save them the budget of several small countries in security costs alone. They take on the endeavor one case at a time using an incredible new technology. Particle separators were a boon to society with their advent, combined with the newly harnessed energy of dark matter and doors were opened. Doors that lead into incredible worlds and planes beyond their imagination. New worlds, reflections in time and new opportunities were suddenly within their grasp and became the building blocks toward their goals, all draped within the desires for the betterment of society. Sadly, doors tend to open both ways and every time someone went out something else could be coming in.
