Necormancy Stories

In the outskirts of Ashviel, Nemorha lives a secluded life, her reclusive nature fueled by fear of discovery. Despite her reputation as a powerful sorceress, Nemorha secretly studies necromancy, which is now outlawed. But she obsessively works towards painting it in a new light. She studies a revolutionary form where the dead retain their souls - a blend of necromancy and divine resurrection, allowing the dead to return fully aware and whole. Her only visitor is her oldest - and only - friend, Ayanna Cedarvine, whose sunny demeanor and wild stories provide Nemorha with a rare sense of normalcy. One day, Ayanna arrives unexpectedly with her younger brother, Eryndor and an ancient worn tome containing a map. A map showing a path that leads to great riches, but blocked by ancient, enchanted door. Knowing they'll need powerful magic to break through the seal, Ayanna asks Nemorha to join them and their two friends Kaelen, a brash but good-hearted warrior, and Luthen, a quiet, thoughtful rouge. After initial reluctance, Nemorha agrees - both out of loyalty to Ayanna and reluctance to see her friends hurt. Nemorha struggles with keeping her studies a secret while keeping her new crew safe and navigating a sudden and challenging romance with Luthen.
