Book 1 in the Tortured Saga A golden lombax with reddish brown stripes snuck through the Nefarious Space Station, hoping to rescue his Markazian friend, but ended up getting captured. While in captivity, the lombax becomes friends with his neighboring inmate. His new friend gets taken to Nefarious, and was dragged, yes dragged, by his cell to reveal that he was also a golden lombax with reddish brown stripes. Will he be able to rescue his Markazian friend and the lombax before he gets killed? Read to find the answer. •FYI, I'm likely going to rewrite this because of how bad my writing was when I started this Saga over two years ago• Ratchet and Clank belong to Insomniac Games.

As I walked down the hallway, I felt a sense of dread fill me for an unknown reason. I stopped. Silence. He's never anywhere near silent. Carefully, I slipped through the hall, as quietly as I could, and peeked around the doorframe to the tech lab- or more commonly known as the broom closet- to see Dr. Nefarious working on something. I couldn't quite tell what it is, but somehow I knew it was bad. A warm touch on my shoulder made me glance to my right. Nothing. No Cora, no Brax, no Qwark, just no one. Yet the soothing touch remained and I felt myself relax slightly I returned my to gaze to Nefarious, but he wasn't there anymore. Startled, I look around to find him standing behind me. He was different too with his glasses spiked and the lenses shaded red. I screamed. With a gasp I sit up in a cold sweat. Breathing hard, I look around my room, seeing the Markazian sitting next to me. "Ratchet, what's going on?" Talwyn asks. "And how did this happen?" She points to a big scar on the left side of my chest that continued onto my shoulder that she hadn't seen before.
