'Nevermore' is a modern retelling of 'The Raven' that gives unknown context and story into the famous poem CHARACTERS (9 People) LENORE LEE: A friendless, energetic, 'weird' kid who is complete opposite to Allan, and yet becomes close to him ANNABELLE LEE/MRS. POE: Lenore's mom, oblivious and neglectful/An older teacher who is a strict but kind lady RODERICK LEE/THE RAVEN: Lenore's dad who secretly hates her/The deep, powerful voice of the Raven, speaking only one simple word, but meaning a million DAVID RODMAN: Allan's uncle who wants the best for his nephew who tends to disagree with him ALLAN RODMAN: An emotionally unintelligent, but academically genius closed-off highschooler who learns to be social LIZ RODMAN: Allan's aunt who is busy but makes the time she can to be with her family/ BYSTANDERS/STUDENTS (4): Non-speaking background roles TIME The play takes place in the modern 21st century PLACE Nevermore takes place in Baltimore, Maryland SET There is no permanent set piece, but multiple set pieces are used throughout the play NOTES More than 4 background actors can be used but it is recommended to keep the play minimalist

Amira's life is at a downward spiral. She just broke up with her boyfriend, lost a bunch of her friends, and her parents are getting divorced. She feels lost and alone. When she meets the new girl, Sky, it feels like she met a light in the dark, like maybe her life wasn't all bad. Sky makes her feel loved and important, something she hadn't felt in a long time. At a time when she's lost, meeting Sky makes things better. But somehow, as she gets to know Sky more, it's more confusing...Amira has never felt this way about anyone...
