Candy Doll es una novela corta de estilo neo-noir que se puede leer en distintas capas. Por un lado, presenta a los dos protagonistas, quienes deberán sortear diferentes adversidades a lo largo de los cuatro bloques que componen la historia; la relación entre ambos es sumamente tóxica y su evolución será una montaña rusa. Por el otro, está el subtexto que toca temas muy actuales: la idealización, la hipersexualización y la fantasía del mundo virtual, la cual confronta directamente con la soledad, el estrés y la alienación del mundo real.
