Group C Sector 45. The last group to be deployed, six months after Nere makes it to her father's colony. They have someone that the scientists on The Neptune Project need desperately to continue the survival of Safety Harbor. But with more and more challenges arising as they make their short (but so long) five hundred mile trip across the ocean, one question remains. Will they make it to Safety Harbor? (After the Neptune Challenge) Kuron has been assumed dead. Dai is staying at Safety Harbor. Nere is scarred, but not injured. Everyone is at peace. Nothing could ever happen. Right? Taking place after the Neptune Challenge, Nere and her friends are ready to attack whatever comes their way. But what happens when an unexpected person is brought back into the equation? Mako is alive and he's changed... Safety Harbor is in peril again and Mako is the only one that can save them but with people on his short-fin tail he has to choose between friends or freedom, home or hate, and hunt or be hunted. Remember I made only a few characters Polly Holyoke did most of the work!

After Dai's Father passes, he gains the trust of the inhabitants of Safety Harbor, but is put in a tough situation when Whitey and Sham pay a surprise visit. Nere is worried that James' secret has been exposed and learns how Gillian got involved with the project.
