Kate Salina Cross was never meant to survive the universe's judgment.
In a reality governed by cosmic law, balance councils, and predetermined endings, beings labeled Violations are erased before they can become problems. Their existence is considered a flaw-something to be corrected, not understood.
Kate was one of them.
But instead of breaking, she became something worse.
She became The Bridge - a living connection between impossible states: human and cosmic, mercy and law, existence and erasure. Where the universe demanded certainty, she introduced choice. Where judgment was final, she created Sanctuary - a place for those the cosmos had already decided should not exist.
Now the universe is watching.
Cosmic councils test her ideals. Conceptual entities challenge her right to intervene. Meta-beings who can step outside the story itself begin to take interest in her world - including forces that see fiction, readers, and reality as equally disposable.
As threats escalate from divine law to narrative collapse, Kate must do what no cosmic system was designed to allow:
protect life without becoming a tyrant, preserve order without killing hope, and stop beings who can erase stories without erasing herself.
This is not a story about power.
It is a story about who gets to exist,
who gets to decide,
and what happens when the universe is forced to confront mercy.
Kate Cross is not the strongest being alive.
She is the one the universe could not finish judging.
And that may be far more dangerous.
