Life has its ups and downs. That is what most people say. I say, “Live then die.” Well, that IS also one of the things most people say. Where am I going at this? Ugh, never mind. My name is Rean. Pronounced as “Reen”, but spelt differently. And I am a girl. Yes, “Rean” can also be a girl’s name. Believe me, I’ve checked. My current full name is Rheanne Elizabeth D. Camion. “Rean” is actually my nickname. My real name, on the other hand, is Rhezabet Neannaxe Camionie. “Rheezabeth Kneeyanaxsey Camiyoney”, if you have a hard time pronouncing it. I am hundreds of years old, but my body stopped growing since I have reached of age. I was, well, I was once human. Until the day I was chosen to be the next leader. I was meant to lead the remaining people of Variqua from them. Notice how I say the word “them”. A tone of hatred so harsh, it could kill. Why, you may ask, do I have such hatred towards them? Simple, they killed every last bit of my kind. They killed my parents. They were “chosen ones”, my real parents I mean. Just like everyone else in the land where I came from, they, my parents, tried to rid our sanctuary of them. You may be wondering why I am not telling you what they are called. They have no name. They are merely dark shadows that could take form of any being. The only way one could kill them is to burn them when they are in a shape other than their true form. Or at least that was what I was told. Who knows, maybe there are other ways of killing them. I have come to tell the tale of my findings and the happenings in my life as they happen that would soon become a legacy, if lucky enough. -Rean

For her own safety, for the safety of the hundreds of people Wasp protects in his Nest, she has to cut ties with all she knows and try to help him settle that past. Complicating everything are the lies planted in her own mind, the hatred her sister holds for her now, and the feelings that she has developed for the great and powerful Wasp.
