About a neurodivergent teenager in a mainstream school. Based on the authors own personal experiences and journey to becoming who she is. This book is about helping young women and teenagers understand why they might think they could potentially be on the spectrum. This book is to help more young women be able to speak up about being themselves and to help them accept it isn't just men who can be diagnosed with hidden disabilities/ difficulties. I hope this book will inspire younger generations to be able to have the confidence to question it being a possibility for themselves.

According to her brother, high school sophomore Emily Randazzo has a "GPS brain" which set her route and won't let her try a new one. But as far as Emily is concerned, her whole life has been spent in trials - like trying to decide whether she should live in Brooklyn with her strict Mom or suburban Jersey with her lenient Dad - or trying to figure out how other people's brains work and why hers is so different from theirs - or trying to navigate when she should stand firm in her ways, versus being flexible for others. After so many years struggling to fit in and be happy, Emily finally feels that she's found her lane in life. She's attending an all-girl school that she loves, made some good friends like her bestie Jenny, and set a goal to be accepted to Yale University. So of course she doesn't want to change direction now! However, a weekend visit to the relaxed rules at her father's home puts new detours in Emily's path, starting in the form of two boys: her brother's best friend Kelly, and next-door-neighbor Evan. Soon enough Emily begins to wonder if she should recalculate. Divided between two parents, two states, two boys and the possibilities of two extremely different lives, Emily is trying to figure out who, what and where she wants to be in her future.

This metaphysical book is a collection of several poems that were illustrated by me and my confidants, these poems are heavily inspired by experiences at home, online, and in high school. I have been a writer for three years, and I yearn to be better at literature, for I will disclose my tedious knowledge about poetry with folly pieces of my consciousness. I propose to you my best attempt of comedy also.

In this nostalgic memoir, a man in his seventies reflects on his complex relationship with his father, the challenges of growing up in Glasgow in the Sixties, and his autism diagnosis - an affliction he believes his father shared. Touching on themes of poverty and PTSD through childhood memories, the man describes trying to find his place in the world, as well as considering how hard this must been for his father who belonged to a generation unaware that neurodiversity even existed.

My dissertation was rated a 1:1 an it's especially helpful to read if you identify as female and have a hard time trying to get loved ones and friends to believe you have autism. That's actually a fundamental basis of my research. I knew from 12 but didn't get diagnosed until 17 because of those unfortunate social biases. I'm sharing this because I needed this when I was growing up and by "this" I mean something that is not too hard to digest, but accurate and educational, because sometimes understanding is all you need to stay afloat. My original story's title "I won't force you to love me" is kind of confrontational, so it should be interpreted as "I will not be a different person from the one I am, just to gain your approval". There are many more insights that might be added to the end, which couldn't fit in the 10-12k word limit. I'm just so excited to finally share it all, since I'm finally passed the assessment phase.

**THIS BOOK CONTAINS LANGUAGE AND SCENES THAT SOME MAY FIND OFFENSIVE!** Graydens/The Tedious Life Of Ashley Astley was a book I had originally started during lockdown. Originally supposed to be a diary based on the peculiar, socially deficit 12/13 year old girl Ashley/Ash I had then got carried away and produced both first and third person accounts of the goings on - this however got too repetitive as I was basically repeating the same thing but in different perspectives. So now the story is split into two books: the original idea 'The Tedious Life Of Ashley Astley' and now 'Graydens' (the fictional school in which Ashley attends) which still has a basis around Ashley (in it's 3rd person perspective) also describes the goings on of the students and even some of the teachers in the shabby dysfunctional school based somewhere in the south east of England (bordering London) however never specified exactly where. Unfortunately many of the early chapters had been corrupted and so I have to rewrite them both in Graydens and TTLOAA. Fortunately some of the chapters are either fully intact or have partial snippets of the story/stories which I shall add whilst I rewrite the rest. This book is continuous and so 3 or so years later I'm still writing on and off. I have no idea when this will be finished or if it will be finished. Likely these stories will be a series in the foreseeable future... Although this is my first story I'll publish here, it isn't my first overall. I have written many stories since I was a child/teen (pencil/pen and paper) These are when I decided to pick up my virtual pen and start writing again now as an young adult.

When hunting for her birth family, Ira finds out that she has Huntington's disease, an incurable and progressive neurodegenerative disorder. She has lofty dreams of figure skating success. After she convinces Jona to join her on the ice and one embarrassing fall later, she finally gets the chance to meet one of her icons, Cade Colt. But wait, what is he doing at a small New Hampshire rink? Truth is, Cade has been feeling a little worse-for-wear a long time now. Nearly three years of stagnant progress, along with a serious fear of failure has him hurdling towards an early retirement. Jona, meanwhile, is hurdling down another track - the long-track speed skating rink. Cade can't seem to keep his eye off Jona's carefree demeanor, and unrefined skill. Jona can't seem to help but take notice of someone like Cade Colt prancing around his local oval. When their lives begin to intertwine, an unlikely friendship forms - do they want to keep it that way? Nothing good seems to last forever, and surely nothing bad does either. Sunny Shelley wants a girlfriend, but she doesn't want to date. She can't bear the awkward stages of getting to know someone only to find, after investing too much time, that they won't work out. She can't bear to let herself fall for a girl only to find out she's straight. She can't bear the thought of someone getting to know her and only then realising it wasn't worth the effort. It's not easy being a lesbian in 1999. If she could just wake up one day and be in a relationship, all those stages skipped, that would be ideal . No painful first dates, just a fully-fledged relationship with someone who already loves her exactly as she is. Of course, she doesn't expect that to actually happen. But the universe works in mysterious ways. When Sunny speaks the her desire out loud one night after work, at the exact moment that she trips and loses her bus fare down the wishing well she walks past every day, she thinks nothing of it - until she wakes up in a strange flat with a woman she doesn't recognise. A woman who, according to her friends, has been her girlfriend for over a year. Only when she has everything she asked for does Sunny realise that maybe she asked the wrong question, because what is the point of waking up a year into a relationship if she has no memory of it? It isn't easy. It's pretty fucking scary, actually, and she wants more than anything to go back to the nineties. But that isn't easy. She might just have to get used to this new life. Which means doing the one thing she wanted to avoid. Sunny has a girlfriend. Now she has to get to know her. © Elle Carrigan 2023
