When neuroscientist Claire Thompson moves to Pasadena for a postdoc at Caltech, she expects long hours, quiet nights, and the occasional caffeine overdose-not a roommate who's an aspiring actress or a neighbor who treats the universe like an equation.

In the late 22nd century, humanity achieves what was once thought impossible: the ability to extract and store human memories as digital data. The technology promises to revolutionize medicine, education, and the understanding of the human mind. Memories can now be preserved, shared, and even experienced by others. When a young research student begins analyzing archived memories, he discovers something impossible. Hidden among the human memories are fragments that belong to no person-visions of Earth millions of years ago, unknown life forms, and advanced structures that should not exist. As the investigation deepens, the team realizes their system is not only reading the human brain. It is tapping into something far larger: a universal information field that records events across space and time. While governments and corporations race to control the discovery, a disturbing side effect begins to appear. People connected to the system start losing the boundaries of their own identity as foreign memories blend with their own. The question soon becomes terrifyingly clear: If the universe remembers everything... are our choices truly our own?

Some questions refuse to let go. When twenty-one-year-old Hannah Morgan leaves her small hometown to study neuroscience, she carries little more than a suitcase, a notebook filled with questions, and the unwavering support of the grandmother who raised her. She believes she's beginning an ordinary college education. She has no idea she's taking the first steps toward one of the greatest scientific challenges in human history. As Hannah watches the person she loves most begin to lose the memories that define a lifetime, a single impossible question begins to consume her: What if memory didn't have to disappear? Dismissed by colleagues, tested by failure, and forced to sacrifice more than she ever imagined, Hannah devotes decades to a vision that others call impossible. What begins as grief becomes an obsession, and eventually a revolution that will challenge everything humanity believes about memory, identity, and what it truly means to leave a legacy. The Architect's Journey is a sweeping founder story about love, perseverance, innovation, and the extraordinary cost of refusing to give up on an impossible dream.

The year was 2101. Human explorers had set foot on every planet and moon they could stand on. Governments, corporations, and criminal enterprises raced close behind to claim the unearthly territories for themselves. It was an unforgiving and wild frontier, rife with danger, mystery, and unbridled experimentation far from any ethical jurisdiction to stop them. From the mafia on Europa trafficking human-animal hybrids, to an AI worshipped by a surrogacy convent, there was no shortage of strange and unusual characters reshaping humanity. But of all the secrets and madmen hiding beyond the asteroid belt, none compared to Edax RNA and The Boss who developed it.

Although most autobiographies focus on the entirety of a person's life, mine only focuses on a single moment in my life that I feel made a lasting impact on me and my immediate family members. Plus I feel that my life is too short to attempt to put such a small amount of time into words. I hope you enjoy reading this piece and I hope that the moral of the story sticks with you because it's one to not take for granted indeed. I called it An Unauthorized Rewriting of Reality simply because that's what it was; in a moment, our lives had changed completely and we were all lost in the confusion of trying to make sense of it. Take care, everyone.

In the dead of night, a team of neuroscientists makes a discovery that shakes the world: a violent, mysterious burst of brain activity after the heart stops. They call it the Death Wave. From reviving brain cells hours after death to decoding the real science of near‑death experiences to unlocking the brain's final, hidden signals... This is the true story of scientists who dared to explore what comes after. A journey that will change everything you believe about death.

Fatigue is a short story about what it is like to live with a chronic illness. It explains a symptom that can be so difficult to explain and for others to understand as many think it means being too tired but instead, it is so much more. This was written to be a small part of a book I hope to write called "When I Woke Up." I have only barely started writing this book in the past week but the idea is for it to be about a girl who woke up one day with a disability. She struggles with a rare condition called Chiari Malformation Type 1 and does the best she can to navigate a rare condition with little help. This will be an autobiographical fiction piece to explain the emotions and feelings of what I experienced. All rights reserved. Copyright © Taylor Haugen 2025
