A sequel to my httyd fanfiction "To Keep Them Safe". Set in a AU after the third httyd movie, where instead the dragons stayed. This book will have spoilers for my first book, I highly recommend you read the other first.... Some years after Hiccup fufilled Brynhild's last request to find Brielle and Hildra. Hiccup and the rest of New Berk are doing well. Zephyr and Nuffink are growing up around dragons and growing up in peace with them. But there are some things that haven't been settled... As Brielle starts to learn more about her mother, she is torn between the mother she thought and remembered her as, and the person most other people remember her as. Can Hiccup help her to move on, and come to terms with who her mother was? Or will she follow in her mother's footsteps? Will she be able to find the family she wants and needs? Or will she drift towards a darker path...? WARNING: May contain spoilers for the httyd series'Race to the Edge' and 'Riders of Berk/Defenders of Berk'. The time flies. Life on New Berk goes on. Astrid and Hiccup couldn't be happier. They're now loving parents of two amazing children- future chiefs of New Berk and protectors of the hidden dragon world. Unfortunately, the children don't see themselves as good successors of that great responsibility. The son can't create a bond with dragons (which is kind of problematic). The daughter is really bad with any social skills (which are quite useful when you're a chief). Will they overcome the obstacles? Will they follow their parents' footsteps? Or maybe they'll give the beginning of a completely new adventure?

I used to have a Rider. I used to have a Dragon. We got into so much danger... We hurt each other... We both got hurt... But mostly, we had so much fun... And we had so much adventure... And we were together... And we were together... I know, he's out there... He's out there Somewhere... We were One, once. We were happy, once. He was mine, and I was his. He was my wings. I was his first friend. I looked at him, and I saw myself. I saw him in myself. But now all I see is him, everywhere I look. We saw the sky, the wind, the rush of freedom as one. But I see a blank space where he should be. But now I only see it alone. And I'm reminded of How It Used To Be... It's not the same. When we used to have dragons... I miss my Best Friend. I miss my Best Friend.

Nuffink Haddock grew up in the tales of dragons and dragon riders, dreaming about the winged creatures and the day they would come back. But when he finally spot something in the sky, nobody believes him. No wonder, dragons never leave the hidden world. So, in that case, what did he see ? English is not my main langage.

Yes, it's another one of these but I really wanted to do another one and hopefully better than the other one. "What if we left for good?" "What do you mean?" Hiccup was planning to run away but now that Astrid knows his secret, he doesn't know what to do. Then Astrid comes up with a crazy idea that might just save them. They leave for good. Or that's what they thought. 7 years later, Hiccup and Toothless along with Astrid and Stormfly crash land on berk and chaos ensues and probably the greatest threat they would ever have to face. All characters are owned by dreamworks and/or Cressida Cowell. I just own this storyline.
