He makes it a mission to bring Ava's walls down and let the world see her as he sees her. His mission is challenging seeing as he is the star football player that transferred to have a better chance at college football. Falling in love was not the plan, much less with a girl the school ignored.

She's never had a boyfriend, never been kissed, and never had any real friends other than Savannah who has been her best friend since preschool. Xander is the new kid in the junior class. They notice each other immediately. They have an instant connection that neither of them can explain. Yet they never seem to acknowledge or explore this connection. Jonnie is her long time crush.
