This whole thing is an inside joke, where we go to 1899 to hang out with the newsies, and later go to 2021 with them to confuse them about the modern world. Enjoy.

Ain't it a fine life! Carrying the platter through it all! A mighty fine life, carrying the platter tough and tall! When the time strikes, we does what we wishes! Maybe cook some fishes! Hafta wash the dishes! What a fine life! Carrying the platter home-free all! In other words, this is an AU in which the modern newsies work at a restaurant. Includes all the characters, but focuses mostly on Smalls, Sniper, Finch and Tommy Boy.

Katherine's father was a multimillionaire, his inventions bringing wealth to the once poor Pulitzer family. Not only was the family rich beyond imagination, the eldest daughter of Joseph Pulitzer was stunningly beautiful. After a good-night-gone-wrong, Katherine and her sister find themselves in a tricky situation with only a stranger, his gang of boys and runaways and his masters castle... Jack Kelly wasn't sure what to do. Or how he even got here. After a traumatic few days together, Jack begins to treasure the time he spent with his new friends, though the past seems to be falling away beneath their feet. Secrets are revealed, hearts are torn apart and one things for certain, things cannot carry on like this. [apologies in advance for my very literal take on the Snyder the Spider remark]

Jack Kelly knows that life at Pulitzers School of Fine Arts for Troubled Youth stinks. He desperately wants to get away and live his own life, stand on his own two feet. He wants to go to Santa Fe. Now, that vision is becoming more of a fantasy when he finds that his adopted brother, Crutchies had an accident and worsened his already bad leg and will need at least a year to heal. While Crutchie heals, a new challenge comes along in the form of an intriguing boy named David. Jack still wants to go, but a small part of him is begging him to stay. David Jacobs isn't happy with leaving his normal life in Woodside, but with his father laid up with a torn ACL and broken femur, he's got no choice but to find a way to support himself and his family. And the school offers job opportunities for teens. So off he goes. He is nervous and excited about leaving for school and meeting new people. Although he wasn't exactly sure what he was expecting, a tall, handsome, and sarcastic roommate was not. David doesn't know this funny feeling inside of him means and what living in such close quarters will do for it. Anthony "Racetrack" Higgins is known for his complete lack of respect for authority and quick tongue. This time he's taken it too far and landed himself on the exchange student list and will have to spend two weeks in Brooklyn. Before he got there, Race was a bit intimidated by the Brooklyn boys, but after meeting his roommate Spot Conlons, he might change his mind about the whole situation. Race has fallen head over heels for the buff (NOT SHORT) boy. But does Spot feel the same way? Spot Conlons is none too pleased about being put on the exchange list, and meeting his new annoying roommate is doing nothing to change his mind. She thinks she's got her problems worked out by heading west, but the arrival of one boy just as they're about to leave, and his subsequent joinment to their caravan, mean they're just getting started...

Your basic modern au Newsies fanfic. Everyone's in high school (besides Les and the adults duh) and things get,, dramatic. There's gonna be angsty stuff, but I'll put trigger warnings if they are in any way needed. (most of the angst is Race because I practically am Race so I end up dumping my vents on him, sorry)

Autumn in New York is peaceful and calm... well at least it should be however when there's a 1 bathroom apartment with 2 bedrooms and around 10 young men living in it; things can get chaotic. Random turtles, terrible jobs, crippling bills and wholesome ships, this story is a guaranteed journey. When Jack and David Jacobs-Kelly inherited a house that had once been a Newsboys Lodging House the didn't expect it to be haunted. Let alone haunted with the ghosts of a group of Nineteenth Century newsboys. But sometimes there are things that just don't work out the way we plan them.
