Jack Kelly x Eleanor "Nell" Sullivan
"Maybe home was never a place. Maybe it was a person."
New York City, 1899.
Every morning before the sun rises, Jack Kelly and Eleanor "Nell" Sullivan climb down from the rooftops of Manhattan with ink-stained hands, empty pockets, and stacks of papes to sell.
Best friends since childhood, they've survived everything the streets have thrown at them. Together with Crutchie, Race, Davey, Les, and the rest of the Manhattan newsies, they've built a family out of nothing-one that laughs louder than it cries and never leaves one of its own behind.
Jack dreams of escaping to Santa Fe, where life is simpler and hope feels within reach. Nell has never believed dreams come that easy. As long as they're together, she's content with the family they've created among the rooftops and bustling streets of New York.
But when Joseph Pulitzer raises the price of papes, the newsies refuse to stay silent. What begins as one boy standing up for what's right quickly becomes a strike that echoes throughout the city-and forces Jack and Nell to confront feelings they've spent years pretending didn't exist.
As the fight for justice grows more dangerous, Jack begins to question the dream he's chased for so long. Because maybe the future he's been searching for was never waiting in Santa Fe.
Maybe it was standing beside him all along.
