Nothing is perfect. Thomas thought after fighting and surviving everything could end up ok, maybe even finally perfect. After the Glade, the Scorch, and defeating WICKED, Thomas dreamed of revealing his secret to everyone. Now that his tie to confidence and love is gone, his secret will remain hidden. newt is hired to assassinate the prince of katorlan as he lives in the rival kingdom, asphodel. sure, he's done this countless of times, but never in a million years did he imagine to feel what he felt in his mission. to say he was fucked was definitely a huge understatement. maybe even the understatement of the year, no scratch that, the understatement of the century.

what if thomas and newt were forced to marry because their parents wanted to hold a family business with their café idle town? for thomas it was okay to have a person live in his house, the only thing he wanted was to make the blonde feel comfortable. while newt's dreams were as good as gone... Newt Issacson: An aspiring teenage pilot with big dreams and a heart of gold, and a plane. Thomas Greene: A tired teen with a summer job at a local hangar, feeling out of place among these pilots. The roar of engines filled the early morning. Nothing like it Newt thought. "I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning, it smells like freedom!" Newt shouts quoting Top Gun, his all time favorite movie. The summer heat beat on his neck, Thomas sat there making sure everything was set for the day. He hears the boy yell some pilot thing with enthusiasm. He'll never understand it.
